On Saturday 23rd January 2016 in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall Main Auditorium (as part of Celtic Connections festival); Aidan O’Rourke, Shona Mooney, Jenn Austin and I wrote four new pieces of music for Aidan and my project Strathspey and Surreal Society. We assembled an amazing set of 21 fiddlers to perform the music and it was conducted by Dave Milligan. You can’t beat 21 fiddles playing together!
The fiddlers were Shona Mooney, Lena Jonsson, Laura Wilkie, Patsy Reid, Lori Watson, Kristen Harvey, Lauren MacColl, Chris Stout, Aidan O’Rourke, Catriona Price, Adam Sutherland, Innes Watson, Ross Couper, Jenna Reid and Rua MacMillan.
We also had six Students from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. They were Ryan Young, Sally Simpson, Robbie MacKenzie, Bernadette Kellerman, Madeleine Stewart and Graham Rorie.
